Delivery statuses
Follow an order from submission through delivery, failure or reversal.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
queued | The order is waiting for background processing before a delivery session is available. |
processing | The order is actively being processed before a delivery session is available. |
accepted | The create request was accepted for asynchronous processing. Poll the order endpoint or wait for callbacks for later state changes. |
pending | The delivery flow has started and is waiting for the next external status update. |
sent | The delivery is waiting for recipient action or a later status update. The recipient has 10 minutes to accept. |
completed | Delivery completed. Keep processing authenticated callbacks because Steam can later reverse the trade. |
failed | The order failed before completion. This is a terminal status and any deducted balance is returned when applicable. |
cancelled | The order was cancelled before completion. This is a terminal status and any deducted balance is returned when applicable. |
expired | The recipient did not complete the delivery in time. This is a terminal status and any deducted balance is returned when applicable. |
reversed | The order was completed, then reversed by a later platform update. This is a terminal status and any deducted balance is returned when applicable. |
Failed, cancelled, expired or reversed orders return deducted balance when applicable. Check the order snapshot and timestamps.refundedAt rather than inferring a refund from the status alone.
